Yes, they keep you more secure, but VPNs can also restrict your browsing experience. So here's how to disable and reactivate your VPN on iOS.

Using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) has become increasingly common to enhance online privacy and security. VPNs encrypt your internet connection and route it through a secure server, shielding your data from prying eyes. However, there may be instances when you need to turn off VPN on your iPhone temporarily.

There are two straightforward ways to disable VPN on iPhone.

VPNs are important privacy features, whatever device you're using. Nonetheless, sometimes, you might want to disable it for a while. You can easily turn off a VPN on your iPhone through Settings. Here's how to disable it through this menu.

To start, unlock your iPhone and locate the Settings app. It looks like a gear icon. Tap on it to open the menu.

Inside the settings menu, look for the section labeled VPN. The location of this section may vary depending on your device's configuration. In newer versions of iOS, it is usually found towards the top of the settings menu.

Once you're in the VPN settings, you'll see a list of configured VPN connections. Each connection has a toggle switch next to it. To turn off a VPN on an iPhone, simply tap the toggle switch next to the active VPN connection. The switch will change from green (on) to gray (off), indicating that the VPN is no longer active.

To ensure that the VPN has been successfully turned off, check the status bar at the top of your iPhone's screen. Normally, when a VPN connection is active, a small VPN icon (resembling a key) will be displayed in the status bar. After turning off a VPN on your iPhone, this icon should disappear.

If you're using a VPN app on your iPhone to establish and manage your connections, disabling the VPN can typically be done through the app itself.

Just locate and launch the VPN app that is currently active. Typically, you will find the turn off button on the home screen of the app; this might look like a simple toggle switch, as in Settings. The labeling may vary depending on the app you are using, but it is typically labeled as "Connect", "On", or a similar indication that the VPN is active. Tap the toggle switch or option to disable the VPN connection.

However, if you can't find the on/off button on the home screen, look for a "Settings" or "Preferences" section. This usually contains configuration options for your VPN connection, including the ability to enable or disable it.

Turning off a VPN on your iPhone can be easily accomplished through either the iPhone settings or the VPN app itself. Remember to re-enable the VPN when you're ready to resume the secure browsing experience it provides. Take control of your VPN settings and enjoy a flexible and safe online experience on your iPhone.
